What to expect during your Pixie photoshoot

The idea of the photo session is to provide a snapshot of your business and what you offer for your business profile on the xplore App.

It will generally be an hour for a small to medium-sized business.

If your business has multiple floors/rooms or an outside area then this can take longer.

The photo session will generally be in the following order.

This may vary depending on the type of business and availability on the day.

1. Internal wide-angle shots of the business space.

2. Detailed close-up photos of products and interesting features of your business 3. Portrait photo and 15-second video clip (for InstagramStories) of the business owner 4. An external shot of business space to show location

5.Photo of business sign or logo

Your xplore photographer will always work around you and your customers. If you have customers that are likely to be in the background of any images we always recommend that you let them know that you are having a few photos taken and explain what the photos are going to be used for. The photographer will also check with any customers before taking any photos.

Preperation

Likewise, if you have any products that you do not wish to feature just make the photographer aware. Please limit these to two or three products.

- Give products and shelves a little dust over. Some of the close-up detail photos can show dust and marks.

- For restaurants and cafes, signature dishes can be photographed but need to be kept to a minimum. Usually 2-3 dishes.

Please arrange these with the chef prior to the photographer's arrival and agree a time when they will be ready to be photographed.

Profile portrait

- Be prepared to have your photo taken. (If you are not available on the day then please allocate a manager/employee that would be happy to be photographed for your Pixie profile.

Firstly, don't panic! We appreciate that most people do not like to have their photo taken but this will be very quick and informal and should only take a few minutes.

The idea of the portrait is to capture you in your business environment. Your xplore photographer may ask to include a prop of some kind. This could be a product that you offer or something that resonates with your business.

As no artificial lighting or flashes will be used during the photo session it's always best if possible to use natural light for the portrait photo. An area near a window would be preferable.

After the photo session

Once your photographer has finished the shoot they will then edit the photographs and add them to your xplore profile which will be displayed on the App. Generally, your xplore profile will contain between 8-15 images which will be selected by the photographer and the staff at xplore HQ.

‍Do we get a copy of the photos?

The photos are used exclusively for your xplore profile and for xplore marketing purposes so unfortunately will not be made available.
