Bibico
At the top of the City of Bath, on peaceful Bartlett street among the cafes and quirky indies sits Bibico, a woman’s clothing store selling a beautiful collection of ethically made garments, all designed in Bath by Bibico’s owner Snow. Snow’s outlook is simple – she set out to create a sustainable clothing company and that’s exactly what she’s done. The antithesis of fast fashion her approach is about taking things back to basics, sourcing quality, natural materials to create clothes that are easy to wear, fuss free and extremely well made.
Enter the light and airy shop and Snow’s values are almost tangible, as you browse the shelves and take in the beautiful designs time feels a little slower. That’s because these clothes haven’t been mass-produced in a factory, instead, each piece has been made by a supplier Snow knows and trusts, so she can ensure that everyone involved in the process is treated fairly. And this attention to detail, quality and care is evident in the feel, look and shape of each piece. Alongside Snow’s own designs Bibico also sells a curated collection of fair-trade clothes, ethical jewellery brands and organic cotton plimsolls and fair-trade baskets from Morocco. It’s fashion, with a heart.
