Palmer Street Bottle

Palmer Street bottle shop specialises in craft beers, wines and spirits, showcasing the best in local producers as well as a range of UK based and International makers and brewers. Like no other bar in Frome, Palmer Street Bottle offers something a little bit different. One of their great passions is cheese, born from a family background in dairy production, which is reflected in the interior design and the origins of contemporary furniture. The tables, for instance, are made with wood previously used to store Westcombe Cheddar. You can still see the rings in the wood where the cheese had been! The shop functions as both a bar with a lunchtime menu, serving daily snacks as well as a cheese offering rivalling a traditional cheesemongers. They have excellent, carefully selected cheese recommendations to compliment a beautiful craft beer or glass of wine either to eat in or takeaway from their deli counter. Check out their offering of locally sourced, organic produce to take away as well as to enjoy in house. You’re also welcome to pick up a bottle of beer and wine for the road, which includes a refill station where you can fill up one of their glass growlers to take home. Enjoy a drink in their relaxed seating space and choose from their tasty, cheesy menu to compliment your chosen beverage.

About

Frome

The picturesque market town of Frome lies in the heart of Somerset, surrounded by vast swathes of open farmland, chalky ridges, undulating hills and valleys and generally stunning scenery at every turn. Explore the many cobblestone streets lined with an eclectic mix of independents and you’ll find everything from interior decor, quirky antiques and vintage clothing stores to children’s boutiques, florists and cafes. On the first Sunday of each month between March and December, the streets of Frome become a pedestrian playground and the town welcomes a pop up community of producers, crafters and makers. Stroll through hundreds of stalls celebrating the best from local producers at the farmers market on Stony Street or the artisanal trinket filled suitcases and prams at the “suitcase sale” on top of Catherine Hill. This unique market celebrates the independent movers and shakers in the South West and draws thousands of visitors each year.
