Frome Hardware
Having taught design technology for seven years across the south west, Dan Gallally decided he was after a change and a new adventure. Moving to Frome, Dan chose to put his love for all things practical into practise and opened Frome Hardware, the town’s only independent DIY store specialising in high quality domestic items as well as offering key cutting and laser cutting services.
Having studied fine art sculpture at university, you’ll often find Dan creating his own pieces of art as well as more practical home pieces from his bench in the window of his shop. Showcasing that much of the equipment on sale is handmade and designed to last a lifetime, ensuring the quality of the product shines through. Dan also offers a laser cutting service to create personalised products for the home. Stop by and have a look for yourself, there’s plenty of household bits and bobs you didn't even realise you needed.
We curate our products carefully, taking into account their quality and impact on the environment, while firmly believing that utility doesn’t have to mean sacrificing design.

About
Frome
The picturesque market town of Frome lies in the heart of Somerset, surrounded by vast swathes of open farmland, chalky ridges, undulating hills and valleys and generally stunning scenery at every turn. Explore the many cobblestone streets lined with an eclectic mix of independents and you’ll find everything from interior decor, quirky antiques and vintage clothing stores to children’s boutiques, florists and cafes.
On the first Sunday of each month between March and December, the streets of Frome become a pedestrian playground and the town welcomes a pop up community of producers, crafters and makers. Stroll through hundreds of stalls celebrating the best from local producers at the farmers market on Stony Street or the artisanal trinket filled suitcases and prams at the “suitcase sale” on top of Catherine Hill. This unique market celebrates the independent movers and shakers in the South West and draws thousands of visitors each year.
